Camille Asmer is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC) and Accredited Dog Trainer (ADT) with the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) and a Certified Behavior Consultant Canine (CBCC) and Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT) with the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT). Camille started her dog training career volunteering and then working for a non-profit that breeds, raises, and trains English Labradors to become service dogs for veterans and persons with disabilities. Very soon after becoming a full-time trainer, fascinated with animal behavior, Camille studied to become certified in behavior too. Through her own business, Sit, Stay, Play Animal Training & Behavior, Camille specializes in canine aggression and fear-based behaviors, working closely with veterinarians in the Charlotte, North Carolina area to help clients understand, train, and live happily with their dogs. A big focus of her work is also mentoring others studying to become dog trainers. When not working with canine clients, Camille loves to spend time with her husband, three children, and two Labrador Retrievers. She also volunteers as a parrot trainer with Companion Parrots Re-homed.

Professional Dog Training: Science & Application is a comprehensive 20-week program designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed as a dog trainer.

Principles of Learning Science; Practical Learning Applications; Body Language & Communication; Training & Management Tools; Puppy Fundamentals; Enhancing Animal Welfare & Management Through Enrichment; Husbandry & Cooperative Care Strategies; Client Communication; Client Instruction; Teaching Group Classes; Practical Ethics for Dog Trainers

 

Successful completion of the Professional Dog Training Program requires the following:

  • Weekly participation in the group forum discussions
  • Participation in a minimum of 17 of the 20 online meetings
  • View all lecture videos
  • Weekly contributions to the learning community in the form of questions, discussion points, shared
  • resources, or peer feedback
  • Demonstration of respectful and supportive dialogue
  • Completion of each module assignment
  • Completion of all quizzes
  • Completion of a Capstone Project
